Pepi OS is an online operating system which allows you to turn your browser into an online workstation where you can create and edit files, surf the web from within the system, check and send emails, play games, store passwords securely and a full gamut of features and functions. The best part is that all of your information is stored online which makes it available anywhere and on any computer with an internet connection and a browser.
Pepi OS is still under development. It is scheduled for beta release in mid 2013.
Online operating systems have been around for a fair amount of time, but have mostly circulated in closed networks in corporations or large organizations.
Since the internet has become a necessity in many industries and households, the idea of having your information available online anywhere you go has been around for a long time.
And as internet applications like Google Docs become more robust, it is inevitable that an eventual bringing-together of both worlds will form into Online Operating systems.
